Capturing Strategies for Youth Wellness
Project Overview
Elkplan participated as a graphic recorder in the Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) regional consultation session for the Strengthening the Mental Wellbeing of Children and Youth in BC initiative, hosted by the Public Health Association of BC.
Purpose
The goal of the Vancouver Coastal Health session was to engage participants in meaningful discussions around substance use interventions for children and youth. This session focused on substance use interventions and gathered insights to inform regional health strategies. Elkplan was able to visually capture the group discussions and key takeaways through live graphic notetaking, ensuring that the feedback on various interventions was clearly represented.
Outcomes
During the session, we captured visual summaries of the group discussions, which centered on interventions strategies and helped to highlight the strengths and weaknesses of each intervention, identify areas where Vancouver Coastal Health support was needed, and reflect on their alignment with broader health recommendations.
Impacts
Elkplan’s graphic notes were featured in the 2024 Discovery Report, emphasizing the insights shared by participants and the potential for these strategies within the Vancouver Coastal Health region. These visuals helped to distill complex feedback into clear, actionable insights, supporting the development of health promotion strategies for children and youth.
